LEVERSTOCK GREEN'S opposition in Saracens Herts Premier Cricket League competition has been confirmed with the publication of the divisional structures for the forthcoming season 2018.
It confirms what has already been celebrated lustily at The Green, that the club's 1st XI will compete at its highest-ever level, in the Championship.
Promoted from third place, due to Division 1 winners Harpenden II unable to take part in the league's premier two divisions, The Green will come up against local rivals Hemel Hempstead Town who finished runners-up.
Levy 2s also benefited from a technicality to get promoted from Division 5A. League winners St. Albans II were docked 35 points for breaking league rules with regards to 1st XI players being used in lower teams toward the end of the 2017 campaign, and therefore Green were moved up from third to the runners-up promotion slot after the summer had ended.
Green 3rd XI will resume in Division 9B, hoping this time to look upward towards promotion rather than fretfully over a shoulder at the relegation scene.
And finally, the promoted 4s will now compete in Regional Division B West after finishing runners-up to Old Eastcotians in 2017's Division C West table.
