BAR CHAIRMAN Graham Evans was delighted to oversee the reopening of LGCC's bar on the evening of Monday April 12.

To help clear up a few questions and clarify other matters, he's penned this short update:

Hi all,

It was great to be finally able to open our doors again yesterday evening and welcome some familiar faces. I hope to see many more over the coming weeks.

I would just ask that you bear with us for these first few weeks as we find our feet again.

Can I ask that you please sign in on arrival, either using your phone for the QR code (on the main clubhouse door) or by signing the book, supplying your name and contact number.

It is strictly table service only, so please don’t queue at the door, and, if standing or visiting the toilet, please wear a mask. The changing-room toilets will be the ones we continue to use while the main clubhouse remains closed for now. Anti-bacterial gel will be freely available.

We won’t be putting on any draught real ale as yet due to our reduced hours; it has a limited life of freshness that isn't much longer than around a week. However there are a wide selection of bottled ales available; please let me know if there is something you would like added to our list.

And if there's anything else you'd like to see - within reason, again just let me know.

I appreciate waiting times may be slightly longer for drinks but please remember we are not a pub. Our bar staff are all volunteers who give up their time to support LGCC and they do a fantastic job, so please be patient.

Currently we are aiming to be open Friday nights from around 6pm, Saturdays from 1pm and Sundays from 12noon

We'll update the club website 'Events' section and post to social media and emails if and when these times continue to expand.
