IN MEMORIAM: Roger White (1965 - 2024)

27 Mar 2024

LEVERSTOCK GREEN CC's Management Committee reports with great sadness the death of hugely popular member Roger White.

A star of LGCC's Monday and Wednesday Darts teams, Roger moved into the village in 2017 with wife Angela.

The couple, married in 2010, lived in the Warners End area of Hemel prior to taking up residence within easy access of The Green; influenced to do so by fellow members met and friendships struck within the clubhouse community.

Roger's LGCC Darts colleagues paid the following tribute to their teammate and friend:

"Roger loved playing darts and was a regular in singles & doubles league and cup matches for both the Monday and Wednesday teams.

"He last played the evening before his sad passing, in a cup game at Pennine Way. Typically, he was in great form - using his favourite 19s treble and double 18 to finish.

"He was a big help to Darts secretary Roy Makins in making good calls about team set-up during matches, but always generously stepping aside to let others play if the circumstances presented themselves.

"Roger played a pivotal role in the Monday night team's recent promotion to Old Bill's Charity Darts League's Premier Division, and is also the currenty holder of both the Monday and Wednesday in-house Singles trophies.

"A winner of many LGCC darts competitions over the years, above all he was a huge personality within the league, popular wherever he went with his infectious laugh and warmth towards teammates and opponents in equal measure.

"Roger will be sorely missed by us all."
