Please find below details for the latest events and other regular features of life in and around LGCC's community-focused clubhouse here at The Green.

Here's what's coming up for you...

SAT MAY 4 - SATURDAY SOCIAL: Live Music At LGCC with 'Uptown Funk UK'
Returning to The Green by popular demand, Uptown Funk UK are once again going to funk it up at LGCC - just as they did to a packed clubhouse this time last year!

The sound of their great mix of soul, funk and disco covers is a sure-fire winner, with LGCC members and guests warmly welcomed for what will be a great evening.

The club once again offers live music without charge at The Green, recognising its position as an important community hub.

We continue to reserve the right to make a small charge for certain events - but this will always be made clear at the time of advertisement.

For now, let's look forward to the first Saturday evening in May. Join us a little earlier if you wish, to watch the end of cricket on The Green (weather permitting, of course).

Then it's time to get your groove on, funkers!

STOP PRESS: Bar open from 12.30pm onwards on Saturday, to show live Premier League football - including Arsenal v Bournemouth (12.30pm) and Manchester City v Nottingham Forest (5.30pm).

SUN MAY 5 - MONTHLY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ NIGHT
It's thinking caps on time every first Sunday of the calendar month - and we'll be ready to welcome you for the latest monthly quiz night on Sunday May 5.

The clubhouse usually opens between 7pm and 7.15pm, with the aim to start between 7.30pm and 7.45pm.

The quizzes are set and designed to be quite informal and not too heavyweight; so they should appeal to a broad range of people among the LGCC membership.

Quiz teams can be formed of any number you'd like to bring. The entry fee of £2 per person is divided between the top performers. New participants are always very welcome - either as a whole team, or as individuals joining others.

Quiz-maestro for May is Roy Makins.

Completely free to attend and personally hosted, everyone in the local community is welcome to pop by or stay for the whole two hours; whichever is most appealing.

Welcome to...
LGCC's OVERSEAS CRICKET PLAYER 2024: Callum Dodds, from Australia

It's a really warm 'G'Day' to Callum!

Having arrived recently from the warmer climes of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, Callum's had the chance to watch the rain fall for a couple of weeks to get accustomed to the UK!

It's a far cry from sunny NSW back home, where the 23-year-old runs his own carpentry business.

But now he's getting ready to 'chip in' with some runs & wickets for the club's Saturday senior 1st XI, as they prepare to start a Herts League Division One campaign on Saturday May 11.

Callum will be around the club helping out here & there, as well as getting stuck into his cricket training with all of the senior players on Tuesday evenings.

Come up to The Green and say hello to Callum when you can. He's settling in really well so far!
