IN MEMORIAM: Pauline Glasscoe

18 Sep 2024

IT is with much sadness that we inform you of the passing of long-time LGCC member Pauline Glasscoe, aged 94, after a short illness.

Pauline passed away peacefully at home with her family around her. She was the widow of former club Vice-President Fred Glasscoe - who died in 2021 - and mum to former LGCC players Keith & Aidan.

She lived within a decent cover drive of the club for 61 years and was a member of many societies within Leverstock Green.

Pauline loved watching cricket on The Green from the mid-1970s onwards, but especially loved supporting her grandsons Lewis, Connor & Nathan and step-grandson Conor - a formidable presence in LGCC's junior teams! In all, Pauline had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her funeral is to be held at Holy Trinity Leverstock Green on Wednesday September 25 at 1.30pm. The family are honoured that the now-retired vicar Lizzie Hood has very kindly offered to conduct the service.

This will be followed by a short cremation service attended by close family only, followed by a celebration of her long and happy life at the only place she would've wanted: the LGCC clubhouse.

Pauline's family would like to invite anyone who knew her to come over to The Green and celebrate her life alongside them.

The family have asked that if anyone who would like to make a donation, then this should be to Rennie Grove Peace Hospice or alternatively cash donations to Holy Trinity Church.

May Pauline rest in peace.
