WO SHIELD: Abbots agony for Green

04 Jun 2013

LEVERSTOCK GREEN were left agonizingly two runs short of chasing Abbots Langley's 135 in Round Two of The Watford Observer Shield tonight.

Knocks of 40-plus from Lewis Koch and Dave Tyson kept Green well in the hunt for victory after the host's fielding left much to be desired in allowing visitors Abbots to rack up their nine-per-over target.

Luke Roberts was the pick of the bowling attack at Bedmond Road this evening, ably supported by Brad Klosterman - making his seasonal debut.

A full scorecard will be published soon here at lgcc.org.uk

Leverstock Green's 'B' team will play host to Punjabi Panthers on Wednesday June 12 in Round Two of the Shield Competition, after Watford Grammar School conceded the First Round tie scheduled for last week.

LEVERSTOCK GREEN also take to the field this week for Round One of the newly-named Heath Park Cup (ex-Gazette Cup).

Drawn at home to Langleybury, it is in fact the opposition who are playing host at Hunton Bridge on Thursday June 6, due to the Green's ground being in constant use for junior matches this week.

Come along and support the boys. It's a 6.15pm start.
