'CHINESE' Dave Young produced the LGCC performance of his life to recall 53 items from the 'Wung Fu' menu - and raise for £400 the 'Team Macy' charity in doing so.
It was an extraordinary evening's entertainment on the Tuesday of Cricket Week 2015 as the audience called out numbers 1-53 at random - chalked off on the darts scoreboard (shown below).
Chinese Dave had originally agreed to name 20 random dishes from the local Chinese's menu but the stakes were quickly upped to all 53 before the challenge started.
Apart from a momentary stumble involving a Hong Kong style pork dish and chicken balls, Dave was dish-perfect. His £53 (£1 per dish) was match by village butcher Dave Clarke as well as guests Brian & Jane.
A further bucket collection helped create an evening's total fundraising of over £400 for 'Team Macy', who've now raised more than £50,000 for The Royal Brompton Hospital, where baby Macy was treated, and the Cardiomyopathy Association.
Young is pictured with LGCC president Brian Coulshed and Paul Cruickshanks, Macy's father, who led the family's attendance at The Green on a never-to-be-forgotten feat of memory from 'Chinese Dave'.
