Match report A strange game of cricket that demonstrated all that is wrong with the current league format and will once again spark the debate for 50 Overs a side, winner take all!

On a pancake of a pitch and lightening outfield, St Margaretsbury won the toss and surprisingly elected to bowl. After an early wobble which saw Green at 11-2, Kingy and Crafty shared a 192 run partnership which saw us to a competitive but not excessive total of 230 in our allotted over’s.

From the outset St Margaretsbury were always up with the required rate with an opening stand of 79 that was broken by BK. What followed was one of the most perplexing sights seen at the Green for a long time as with 151 required off 26 over’s and 9 wickets in hand the visitors decided to play out the remaining over's for a draw.

With the featherbed of a pitch offering no assistance, even attacking fields leaving vast open spaces to score and the introduction of some Billy Bogdown spin could not tempt the opposition to make it a game of cricket.

Everyone was finally put out of their misery after 47 over’s with St Margaretsbury 34 runs short still having 5 wickets in hand.

On the positive 15 bonus points were secured to the visitors 4
