Match report NEARLY 600 runs and 19 wickets ensured spectators were royally treated as Leverstock Green came up just short of a remarkable win at Hitchin in the Herts League top-flight.
The decision to insert their hosts wouldn't have endeared Green skipper Brad Klosterman to his side at tea, after Hitchin had amassed a mammoth 310 for two from 49 overs!
However Levy - promoted last summer and with a sole win to their name so far in Division One - chased the unlikely target with gusto. Opener Brad Hughes continued his fine form with an impressive 79, while Nick Merrett added to last Sunday's half-century with a valuable middle-order 72 as Green's push for the 300-plus finally ended on 276 for nine.
