THIRD-PLACED Bayford & Hertford dealt Leverstock Green 2nd XI’s survival chances another big blow – despite the superhuman efforts of Green seamer Sam Roberts whose innings-long 23-over spell yielded five for 44.

Young off-spinner Matthew Lake also took five wickets at the other end as the hosts were dismissed for 173.

However, in spite of opener Tony Humphrey’s chanceless 52, Levy were unable to increase the run-rate when it mattered and ended up frustrating promotion-chasers Bayford by closing on 118 for eight.
