UPDATE - FUNERAL DETAILS:

The funeral service for Ron will take place on Tuesday April 19 at West Herts Crematorium, High Elms Lane, Garston WD25 0UU.

The service will be in the large chapel, starting at 2.40pm, followed by the wake back at the LGCC clubhouse.

IN MEMORIAM: Ron Craven

IT is with great regret Leverstock Green CC reports that Ron Craven, a former President of the club, passed away early on Saturday morning (March 26) in a nursing home. We send our sincere condolences to Richard, Stephanie and the family.

Ron was a keen cricketer; an opening batsman who played for LGCC for a number of years since the early 1960s.

He was a kind and generous man and, since his retirement from active cricket, he became the club’s President (the predecessor to Brian Coulshed). He was also one of the three Trustees of the club.

His concern for others was always evident and, as a long-term supporter of the club, he was a major benefactor when the clubhouse was rebuilt.

Ron will be so sadly missed by everyone at The Green and we all have fond memories of him.

The family would like to hold the wake at the club and we will publish arrangements once the funeral date and details are known.
