HERTS LEAGUE 2015: Changes Vote Results

03 Jun 2014

THE SARACENS HERTS LEAGUE management committee put proposed changes for 2015 to a vote by member clubs - one was carried and the other defeated.

In order to increase competitiveness and reduce 'dead rubbers' or mis-matches, they proposed to re-structure Divisions 2-10 into 10-team competitions, to mirror the Premiership, Championship and Division 1 above it.

This motion was carried, so clubs in Division Ten and above will play home & away next season. Teams winning a league will be promoted two divisions and the runner-up one step, with the same in reverse for those finishing bottom and second-bottom - so that movement up the Herts League ladder can be kept just as brisk as before.

The second motion, to play mixed-format cricket during the season (half 50/50 win-lose and half 53/47 timed) was narrowly defeated.
